Hi Pastor DePoy.
I am a 75 yr old man who used to play the piano as a teenager (in the 50's!) in the older part of your church (towards Lake Michigan). It was known as Parkside Alliance Church. My dad, Rollo Sr. and I, as a kid, helped Pastor Ambrose Winston build that smaller section with the housing on the second floor for the parsonage. When the newer section was built, I was working in Mt. Clemens, MI at a construction company started by the same Ambrose Winston, called Unified Church Structures. I worked in several of the departments, notably in the glass department, and actually cut all the glass for the windows in your new building.
After training and preparation at Nyack College, in Nyack New York, as well as at the Jaffray School of Missions, I and my wife, Joan with our four children served in Burkina Faso, West Africa for over 30 years among a people called the Bobo. We are now living in Texas, and I am working as a regional team leader with our Alliance (Christian & Missionary Alliance) pastors in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
When my brother Tom Royle's son, Bruce, was interviewed for the 1 M Project, I must say I was thrilled to hear about the project, and to see that the church is alive and well!
May God richly bless you and your flock. May the desire of the hearts of your people be fulfilled, and even more than 1 M come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ!
Be encouraged, Jesus wants to build His church...through you. So you don't have to go it alone!
Sincerely,
Rollo
